Social Science Information Centre

The Social Science Information Centre (IZ) collects and disseminates information on the current state of research and literature in the social sciences in the German-speaking countries as well as on the social science research in Eastern Europe. In order to obtain, process and use the information in an efficient way, IZ carries out research & development in information science and in information technology.

TTN-Hessen (TechnologieTransferNetzwerk-Hessen)

The TTN-Hessen is a collaborative network with the aim to promote industry-science cooperations. Coordinated by the TechnologieStiftung Hessen, its members include all Hessian universities and polytechnics as well as the leading industry associations. Gathering information from all participating research institutions, a web-based expertise index, the "TTN-Expertendatenbank", provides users with single window access to all participating researchers at Hessian universities, polytechnics and other research institutions. More than 1.000 up-to-date cooperation offers are currently available from www.ttn-hessen.de. Thus, the TTN-Expertendatenbank is already the most extensive and most up-to date source of research expertise in Hessen.

Furore designs and builds research information systems. Clients are e.g. the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research, the Dutch Heart Foundation, the Dutch Cancer Society, and the Netherlands Organization for Medical and Healthcare Research (ZonMw). The software is used for administration purposes, knowledge dissemination and electronic submission and monitoring of research proposals.
