International profile of the department:
The Department has its major focus on the
determinants of national and subnational development, labour mobility,
human migration, remittances and rural development in Asian, East
African, Latin American and East European countries.
The co-operation with institutional
counterparts from Taiwan, Iran, Pakistan, India, Mexico, Poland, Spain,
as well as Italy indicates a vital international network for scientific
knowledge exchange in addition to guest lectures and joint research
projects. Thus a significant contribution has been made to the
development of the department's international profile over the last
decade.
