Coordination and Key-communication in the Energy System (CooKiES)

Cluster-Modul mit 60 RaspberryPi-Knoten

The integration of decentrally distributed, fluctuating energy generation, consumption and storage devices requires prognosis, monitoring, coordination and control at different levels. In the field of energy informatics, ITC architectures, data structures, control algorithms, and communication protocols are investigated and provided, including tools for simulation and analysis. The aim is to establish aforementioned processes in an efficient, sustainable, reliable and generally accepted way. Besides methods of computer science, those of electric engineering, cybernetics, and economics are applied.

Course of market-net-simulation

Currently, at the department INES the focus is on the one hand at the conception and realisation of a flexibility market in the interplay of home energy management systems (HEMS), prognosis services of grid operators, and existing energy markets (project Ladeinfrastruktur 2.0). The motivation is to effectively control the load of heating pumps and charging stations in order to mitigate expensive distribution grid expansion. Different market designs are investigated within a distributed simulation environment. For modelling HEMS, socio-economic mechanisms and criteria play a key role.
