Teaching Concept

Our curriculum comprises theory based, application oriented, project related and case related teaching for the Schwerpunkt Wirtschaftsinformatik for the Bachelor and Master Degree of Economics at the University of Kassel, and other partner universities of the teaching cooperation Winfoline.

Our goal is to train our graduates to become flexible and team oriented individuals, who are both able to apply their knowledge to real-world problems and use a scientific approach to practical problems. Traditional fields of occupation for our graduates are information- or project management, system specialists or it consulting. Furthermore, we also want to prepare our graduates to be able to pursue an academic career in Information Systems, as well as to qualify for management tasks in the future.

For this we provide the necessary theoretical foundations and methods in our lectures. By integrating state-of-the-art research into our curriculum, we want to achieve a close integration of teaching and research. In addition, students have the opportunity to work on current research issues and projects within the scope of their Bachelor's or Master's thesis.

A complete overview of our lecture planning can be found here.

Additionally the Fachgebiet Wirtschaftsinformatik has set a goal to offer various services in addition to teaching for our students' training. Thus, we have offered a tutorial introducing MS Office withing the scope of the compusory course Informationswissenschaften I (Information Sciences I). With the acceptance to the SAP University Alliance Programme, we will try to put a focus on the ERP training and call more SAP related offers to life.

To ensure the quality and further improve our courses offered, we carry out regular evaluations of our courses. The results are made available to the students.
