Lecture contents

Theory of synchrotron radiation, construction of synchrotron radiation facilities, Wigglers and Undulators, Free-Electron Lasers, x-ray fluorescence analysis, EXAFS, NEXAFS, XMCD, LIGA-procedure, x-ray lithography.


  • gain basic knowledge about the properties of synchrotron radiation and its applications.
  • learn about material analysis methods using synchrotron radiation.
  • acquire basic knowledge about synchrotron based lithography processes.

The lecture scripts and exercises as well as further information on the lecture can be found in the Moodle course for the according semester.

Please note: The lecture takes playe every summer semester. The Moodle course is sorted first by semester and then by lecture courses. It is recommended to print the slides in black and white als they contain lots of color images.
