Nora Schütze is a Research Associate and PhD candidate at the Section of International Agricultural Policy and Environmental Governance. She works on the research project STEER (Increasing Good Governance for Achieving the Objectives of Integrated Water Resources Management), which analyses the influence of governance and management systems on the effectiveness of coordination and cooperation in integrated and adaptive water management. More specifically, Nora is involved in a case study in the Guadalquivir river basin in Spain, aiming to identify deficits of coordination and cooperation. Through stakeholder workshops and expert interviews, context-sensitive solutions will be developed and implemented in the case study region. Within the scope of her doctoral thesis, she is interested in interrelationships, synergies and trade-offs between the water, energy and agricultural sectors. She particularly focuses on the role of institutions in shaping use and production of water, energy and food.
