Faculty of Economics and Management - Institute of Management and Business Studies - as soon as possible

W 2 Professorship (Tenure Track W3) for Business Administration with focus on Management of the Digital Transformation

Initially for a period of six years with the possibility of permanent transfer of a W 3- professorship in the case of probation by (tenure) evaluation. After a positive evaluation, the acquisition is intended for permanent employment.

We are looking for an individual with an excellent scientific rec-ord who will contribute to the subject area of “Digital Transfor-mation”. Highly welcome is a pronounced positioning within the research and teaching focus of the faculty. From a business per-spective, the effects and design possibilities of the Digitalization are manifold and should be emphasized by the research agenda of the professorship.

We expect candidates to have expertise in several of the follow-ing topics:

  • Strategies of Digitalization and Organizational Change/ Transformation
  • Digital Business Models and Smart Date Analytics
  • Business Analytics and Data-Driven Services
  • Management of (temporary) value adding networks
  • Customer Integration in the Development of Digital Products and Services
  • Digital Customer Journey Design

Favorable are points of reference to further research streams of the faculty and the University of Kassel (e.g. design of infor-mation technology, sustainability, start-ups)

Applicants should have an outstanding international research profile demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications. Further-more, respective teaching experience are expected.

We ask for the attachment of conclusive teaching evaluations since high quality teaching skills are of great importance at the university of Kassel. A contribution in the basic business education program is also presupposed.

In addition, the position requires some experience in carrying out projects funded by third-parties and the ability to collaborate with faculty. We offer multiple networking possibilities, particularly for research.

A significant level of service to the academic administrative au-tonomy is part of the job description.

The holder of the position should contribute to the internationalization of the faculty. Applicants should be capable of teaching courses in English language.
