Dear students,

We cordially invite you to take part in the European Master course for students in Renewable Energies!

The ISES-Europe Conference EuroSun 2016 will be held from October 11 to 14, 2016 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain ( Traditionally, in connection to the ISES-Europe Conferences, a Solar Energy Course for students on master level is held. It will take place this year during EuroSun 2016.

Eligible are students holding a BSc degree with good knowledge of solar energy and related topics. The number of students is limited to 20. The Solar Energy Course is organized by Prof. Víctor Martínez Moll (Universitat de les Illes Balears – SP), supported by Prof. Klaus Vajen (Kassel University – DE).

Apart from attending the EuroSun 2016 Conference, the students will have the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in solar energy and start to build their own professional network. Solar Energy Courses have been held during EuroSun 2000, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and Solar World Congress 2011.

Before the start of the Course in Palma, the students will choose a topic. The list of topics can be found at this page: Based on the papers presented at the EuroSun 2016 Conference and on literature study, the students will work out a state-of-the-art report in the selected topics. Each working group will be formed by two students from different universities and will present the findings to other students and supervisors.

The work load is 90 hours which corresponds to 3 ECTS points. Students will be given a certificate for having concluded a 3 ECTS credit course at the University of the Balearic Islands or Kassel University but the recognition of the course at their home university is at their sole responsibility. Supervisors should motivate students to take part in the Course.

Some general information:

Instead of being charged with the regular student participants fees (390 € as early bird), the entrance to the conference is free of charge for participants of the Master Course if they are members of ISES (22 or 11 € / year depending on the country of origin). Students will be responsible for travel and accommodation costs.


Information about youth hostel:

A contingent of 5 rooms of 4 beds has been pre-reserved at the Urban Hostel. The hostel is located at walking distance from both the Conference venue and the seminar room for the course. The price for one night (including breakfast) is 18 € / person.
