University Entrance Examination (Feststellungsprüfung) at the Studienkolleg

Applicants whose previous education is not fully equivalent to a German university entrance qualification are required to demonstrate their ability to pursue academic studies by passing the Prüfung zur Feststellung der Hochschulreife (Feststellungsprüfung) at the Studienkolleg (university preparatory college).

Most applicants will not pass the exam without previous preparation. Therefore, they have to attend a one year course at a Studienkolleg. This will include 32-34 lessons per week in subjects that are relevant to their later academic study.

Please note that if you should fail this examination, you may resit it only once, and only at the same university preparatory college.

Before being admitted to the Kassel Studienkolleg, your German language skills will be assessed in an entrance test.

Applicants who must attend the Studienkolleg are admitted only in the winter semester.
