The study investigates the use of short-term lidar measurements in combination with mast measurements to improve the vertical extrapolation of wind speed. Different methods are developed and analyzed with respect to their quality for estimating the mean wind speed, the wind speed distribution and the energy yield of an idealized wind turbine at target height.
