Lisa Marie Bläsing

Lisa Marie Bläsing is a PhD candidate at the University of Kassel. She graduated from the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena in Social Theory (MA) as well as Sociology and Biological Sciences (BA). After graduating she worked as a research employee in the project “Gender in STEM” (University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hannover). Her research interests are gender and diversity studies as well as technology and science studies. Particularly, she is interested in the social construction of sex/gender and gender (role) stereotypes in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). At the University of Kassel she is pursuing her research within the UPdATE project, where she mainly focuses on the relations between computer sciences and gender. Her research revolves around the question of why so few women enroll in computer science majors/pursue careers in this field.
