About ZLB

As an academic institution, the Center for Teacher Education at the University of Kassel (ZLB) forms a cross-structure to the Faculties of the University of Kassel. In this way, we aim to provide the best possible support for teacher educators and students, as well as teaching staff, and at the same time ensure that their interests are adequately represented within the university.

In addition to organizing teacher training courses for currently over 5,000 students, we are currently focusing on the PRONET² and PRONET-D projects within the "Quality Initiative for Teacher Education". Our aim is also to make efforts to bundle research results from the educational sciences, subject didactics and subject sciences accessible to teachers through further education and training.

The ZLB cooperates closely with the Hessian Teachers' Academy and other stakeholders in the interests of high quality teacher training in North Hesse in all three phases.
