In the seminar, you will deal with questions relating to indigeneity, postcolonial perspectives, critical literacy, education for sustainable development (ESD) and global citizenship education (GCE). Together, we will look at how indigeneity is portrayed in the media, NGO communication and self-representations - and what role language, perspectives and power relations play in this. Particularly exciting: the seminar is linked to the international summer school "Learning for Change: Rethinking Teacher Education through Indigenous Perspectives". You will come into contact with perspectives from different countries and work in an international learning context with partner universities from Canada, Indonesia, Argentina and South Africa. Inputs from academia, NGOs and indigenous community perspectives open up new perspectives and invite exchange. You do not need any previous knowledge. Central concepts and methods will be developed together in the seminar. International and English-language parts are also expressly designed so that you can get involved and develop your language skills without any pressure to perform. The seminar is open to students of all teacher training courses.
