In 2017 the international study “Academic Profession in the Knowledge Society" (APIKS) starts a broad international comparative survey of the working conditions in academia and the attitude of scientists. This survey is carried out for the third time – similar ones have already taken place in 1992 and 2007 (The Changing Academic Profession = CAP). The study of 2017 will involve research teams from 23 countries (Australia, Brazil, China, the UK, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Korea and the USA). A research team of INCHER-Kassel conducts the survey in Germany as a subproject of the international study.
