Pandemic permitting, Paul-Gerhard Klumbies is planning a study trip to Israel and Palestine from February 24 to March 4, 2023.

This will be an excursion from a scholarly point of view. The trip leads to the central places of the life story of Jesus. Archaeological and historical explorations will be related to theological insights. A central element of the trip is walking in the footsteps of Jesus. In the northern Galilee we will walk through the Valley of the Doves towards the Sea of Galilee, and in the south we will follow the ancient Sugar Trail through the Judean Desert from the Dead Sea towards Jerusalem. Students of Protestant and Catholic theology with a strong interest in biblical studies are invited to participate.

Intensive academic preparation for the trip is mandatory. For all participants, a seminar "Israel in the time of Jesus" will be offered in WS 2022/23.
