Gitanxs, femme fatale and cigarettes - Seminar: "Carmen" in Kassel

Should the foreign term for Roma, Sinti and Gitanos, "bohèmes", be equated with "marginalized"? Why does the bullfighter Lucas, no, Escamillo become a footballer in Kassel and is the discourse on stereotyping, sexualization and racialization in "Carmen" necessary?
While rolling cigars during the dress rehearsal at the Staatstheater and marveling at the musicians, who sang and played so close that some of their performances were frightening, the seminar debates briefly faded into the background.
Nevertheless, a sample of the work in the seminar will be shown at the FB02 Diversity Week. More information will follow.
