From next year, Kassel will become an important center of international research on energy, raw materials and sustainability in their cultural and social significance and global perspective: The Käte Hamburger Center for Advanced Study in the Humanities "Raw Material Worlds: Cultures in Transition" at the University of Kassel has been approved by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and will start in Kassel in August 2026. Käte Hamburger Kollegs, one of the BMFTR's most important funding lines for the humanities and social sciences, generally run for 12 years and have a budget of over 20 million euros.
