L'écriture de soi dans la littérature caribéenne est liée aux multiples influences culturelles et linguistiques ainsi qu'à l'empreinte coloniale sur le basin caribéen dans toutes des différentes nuances. In this context, to say "me" and "us" from a position that is often marginalized, is to confront a system of representations of gender that balances out the distinction and prevents access to a voice that is recognized as legitimate. Given that speaking in the first person is not neutral, but also tends to function as a normative device, often excluding minor subjects, responding to the universal nature of the literary subject means having to disidentify oneself in order to conform to the dominant norms of the discourse. Who can write Caribbean literature and for which public?

The colloquium will focus on texts from the Caraïbes anglophones, francophones and hispanophones.
