Misère de l'amour et imminence de la fin - Les êtres posthumains de Michel Houellebecq

As part of the proseminar "Amour et apocalypse chez Michel Houellebecq", Dr. Carlos Tello (Université de Paris/Université Paris-Est Créteil) will give a guest lecture:

In this "conférence dialoguée", we will discuss the novel Les Particules élémentaires (1998), as well as the novel (2005) and the film (2008) entitled La Possibilité d'une île de Michel Houellebecq. The question will be how to establish a link between the affective condition of the male and female characters, the apocalypse as a moment of critique and révélation, and posthumanism as an epistemological horizon, using literary and cinematographic forms.
