Diverse inspiration at the Writing Night at the Institute of Romance Studies

Last Friday, a new format celebrated its premiere at the Institute of Romance Studies: As part of the QSL project Booster Romance Studies, Annika Rink and Valentina Roether organized the first Writing Night. Students and staff came together with different writing projects under the motto "Cite, rethink, tear apart". In a workshop led by Alexandra Bergedick (lern-reich.de), various methods were tried out to get people writing. For example, free writing or a flash exposé linked academic and creative writing in this way.

The participants then turned their attention to their current projects, including a term paper in didactics, an extra-occupational Bachelor's thesis, an exam paper in literary studies, a contribution to a conference, a dissertation and much more. Under guidance, the participants structured their work phases using the Pomodoro technique and created a productive atmosphere in which they read, thought and wrote late into the night. A snack flat rate and inspiring and supportive discussions during the breaks rounded off the format. As it was so well received, a second edition is to be held in the next lecture-free period in spring. Until then, the colloquium on academic work led by Annika Rink is open to all interested parties.
