Prof. Dr. Dietmar Roehm (University of Salzburg): Psycho- and neurolinguistic correlates of language processing using the example of multilingualism

In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Roehm (University of Salzburg) will give a brief overview of the methods used in his research laboratory. He then introduces the neurophysiological method of EEG and illustrates its benefits using examples of language processing in the context of multilingualism. A particular focus will be on inter-individual differences in language processing, especially in the area of predictive processing. Finally, Prof. Dr. Roehm will broaden the perspective to non-verbal modalities and show kinematic analyses of Austrian Sign Language - an approach that opens up new perspectives on language processing beyond spoken language.
