A Conversation with Montreal Author Gabriel Cholette

As part of the seminar “Montréal: Queer, Diasporic, and Dissident Writing” (led by Jacopo Romei), an online discussion with Montréal-based author Gabriel Cholette will take place on July 7, 2026.

Gabriel Cholette, winner of the Prix du Roman Gay (2023), will speak with students from the Department of Romance Studies at the University of Kassel about his literary work as well as queer literature, identity, and writing in contemporary Québec. The event offers the opportunity to engage in a direct exchange with one of the most distinctive voices in young Franco-Canadian literature and to discuss questions about his writing as well as the themes of queerness, diaspora, and cultural belonging.
