Hanna Jansen studied Business Romance Studies/Spanish (BA and MA) and Economic Behavior & Governance (MSc) in Kassel. Since March 2020, she has been working at Engagement Global - a non-profit limited liability company that works on behalf of the German government and is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Engagement Global's goal is fair global cooperation. Engagement Global informs and advises individuals, civil society, local authorities, schools, businesses and foundations on development policy projects and provides them with financial support.

Hanna Jansen works there in the Center for Development Policy Advice and Networking - Mitmachzentrale (MMZ), initially as a clerk and currently as a project coordinator. The MMZ is the first contact point at Engagement Global that advises on Engagement Global's own funding and volunteer programs as well as on offers from other actors.

In this event, Hanna Jansen reports on her path to Engagement Global, which was also characterized by activities outside of her studies. She will provide an overview of the various actors in development cooperation as well as an insight into the advisory services for civil society organizations and individuals who contact MMZ with their diverse project ideas and networking wishes or in search of volunteer work, stays abroad or professional (entry-level) opportunities in development cooperation.
