Concordance and Collocation

Concordance

Concordances provide the way of looking at a pattern (word, phrase) within the local context. Concordances are less suitable for further computational analysis involving search and extraction of speci c patterns. However, this method is widely
used for qualitative analysis, for instance, analysis of metaphor use in text corpora is often based on the results of concordancing. Evaluating the context, where a speci c concept occurs, is also useful for social science related research on discourse.

Collocation

Collocation analysis extracts the co-occuring sequences of terms from a given corpus.
