Expert hearing on the School Sport Memorandum?

On Friday, November 19, 2010, an expert hearing on the "Memorandum on School Sport" will take place in Frankfurt/Main at the Haus des Sports of the German Olympic Sports Confederation. Prof. Dr. Volker Scheid from the University of Kassel, in his position as dvs Vice President Education, is involved in the implementation of the memorandum adopted in 2009 and is responsible for the dvs ad-hoc committee 'School Sport'.

The three partners involved in the development of the memorandum, the German Association for Sports Science (dvs), the German Sports Teachers' Association (DSLV) and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), have set the topic of "Qualification in the context of school and school development" as the first focus of their work. This ranges from the design of teacher training courses in the new BA/MA system at universities to questions of linking the training phases of prospective PE teachers and suitable measures for the further training of PE teachers and exercise instructors for sport and exercise-related activities in all-day schools.
