The twelfth conference of the dvs Commission on Athletics will be held in Kassel for the first time, on the occasion of the German Athletics Championships, which will take place in Kassel in 2016.

During the conference, athletics in high-performance and competitive sport, in youth training and in schools and universities will be examined and discussed from different perspectives. To this end, current topics and research projects from the intersection of sports science research and training and competition practice will be presented in the form of keynote speeches and theoretical and practical working groups and discussed with the participants.

Among other things, keynote speeches and working groups on the following main topics are planned:

1. Competitive sport (with a view to the 2016 Olympic Games)
2. Talent development in schools and clubs
3. The contribution of training and movement science to athletics
4. Athletics education at universities

In addition, the conference offers the opportunity to present your own research results on these and other key topics in working groups and short presentations.

Tickets to attend the German Athletics Championships will be provided to all registered participants.
