Masterarbeiten

The master's program builds on a strong foundation of digital design and fabrication, guiding students into research-oriented explorations that address the evolving demands of contemporary architecture and construction. Emphasizing an iterative and inquiry-driven approach, students engage in project studios conducted over two consecutive semesters, allowing for in-depth development of research-based design concepts. These studios encourage students to integrate advanced digital tools, computational design strategies, and robotic fabrication techniques into their work, culminating in prototypical and experimental structures. The master thesis is conceived as a continuation of this process, where students formulate and pursue individual research questions that extend from digital design logic to materialization. Supported by advanced seminars in the department’s key research areas—computational design, digital fabrication, and mobile construction technologies—students are prepared to critically contribute to the future of architectural innovation through hands-on experimentation and theoretical inquiry.
