summer semester 2025 event number | FB06.128 supervision | Prof. Dr.-Ing. Julian Lienhard lecturer | Dipl.-Ing. Oliver Berger
The aim of the seminar is the theoretical and practical examination of stadiums and their potential as new urban centers. The focus is on the question of how stadiums can be turned towards the urban space and functionally expanded in order to take on a multi-layered role in urban life beyond their classic use.
Urban Design issues as well as aspects of adaptive architecture will be examined. How can stadiums be designed flexibly in order to adapt to changing requirements? Which spatial and constructive strategies enable a sustainable transformation? And in particular: how can such a building be constructed from rubble and fragments in the reconstruction of a post-war era?
The seminar is primarily offered as an in-depth seminar on the MOLAB - Stadium of Mobile Architecture and Building Processes project and offers an interdisciplinary platform for deepening and further developing the concepts developed in the design project.
