Tutors wanted
for the ZLF teaching project „Neue Ausgangspunkte setzen: koloniale Kontinuitäten in der Bauwirtschaft
verstehen “
with Prof. Dr. Gabu Heindl, Ana Bisbicus

The teaching project, financed by the Central Teaching Fund, is developing a basic seminar accompanied by
workshops in which colonial continuities in the construction industry are examined. The idea is to
design the seminar together. We are guided by Paulo Freire's pedagogy (educação popular),
where learning and knowledge arise from exchange and experience. Teachers become
students and students become teachers.
For our teaching project, we are looking for a tutor with a master's degree in architecture, urban
or landscape planning, starting April 1, 2026.

Your tasks will include:

  • Collaborating on the design and implementation of the introductory seminar
  • Assisting with the preparation of experimental teaching and learning formats
  • Researching postcolonial theories and case studies in the construction industry
  • Documenting seminar content and processes
  • Helping to create a collective learning space

It would be great if you:

  • Are a registered master's student in ASL
  • Enjoy learning, researching, and creating together
  • are interested in postcolonial theories and critical spatial research
  • are interested in topics such as colonialism, extractivism, global labor relations, or
    social-ecological justice
  • are open to exchange and experimental work
  • are willing to work collectively

Duration of employment:

  • until the end of the 2026/27 winter semester
  • Approximately 35 hours per month
  • Compensation according to the usual rates for student assistants (mini-job basis possible)

We particularly welcome applications from FLINTA*, people with a migration background,
people whose first language is not German, and anyone who wants to contribute their perspectives and experiences.
