Coffee talk at UNI:Lokal | Understanding the urban climate - first results from Kassel's climate measuring network

15 minutes with Prof. Dr. Britta Jänicke (Department of Environmental Meteorology)

How does urban climate develop - and why is it becoming increasingly important in times of climate change? The lecture will provide an overview of the key relationships and show initial results from the University of Kassel's new climate measurement network. A total of 20 measuring stations have been installed in the city area to record data on temperature and microclimate. These provide valuable information on how Kassel can be specifically adapted to increasing heat. The talk will take place on 26.11.2025 at 4 pm.

In the coffee talks , scientists from the University of Kassel will explain their research - briefly and compactly in 15 minutes. For all those who want to start the evening with an interesting input on current topics - a sweet snack and a hot drink are provided free of charge.
