Participation in "Playing the Field VI" Conference

As part of the international conference "Playing the Field VI: Video Games and Labour" (March 19–21 in Bucharest), the relationship between video games and labour was examined from a political economy perspective.
Evelyn Riemer presented the paper “Playing the Planner – The Work of Urban Futures in (Video) Games,” which explores how gameplay influences planning-related thinking in the context of sustainable urban development. The study focuses on the extent to which city-building games, as simulations of urban complexity, shape the understanding of trade-offs and decision-making processes. Methodologically, it combines a literature review with experimental approaches in a comparative study design.
