New Publication in European Planning Studies by Ahmed Bakry and Anna Growe
The published study examines the influence of national borders on cross-border cultural networks within European border regions. Using the cases of the Basque, Flemish, and Upper Rhine regions, the research applies the “Interlocking Network Model” to analyse how national borders may constrain cultural interrelations and cooperation. The findings of the study particularly highlight the significance of language and ethnic proximity for the development and stability of cross-border cultural relations.
