Prof. Dipl.Ing. Manfred Grohmann

Curriculum Vitae

Manfred Grohmann graduated in 1979 from the Technical University of Darmstadt with a diploma in civil engineering. Afterwards he worked in the building industry before he became a research associate at the Technical University of Darmstadt in 1981. In 1983 he and Klaus Bollinger founded the engineering office Bollinger + Grohmann (www.bollinger-grohmann.de).

Manfred Grohmann became Professor for structural design at the school of architecture at the University of Kassel in 1996.

Beside the professorship in Kassel was lecturer and guest professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt, at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and at the École Spéciale d’Architecture ESA in Paris. 

He is member of numerous organizations and associations; among others he is a member of the Committee of Structural Engineering, of the Association of Consultinge Engineers (VBI), an extraordinary member of the Association of German Architects (BDA), a member of the Architects' and Engineers' Association (AIV). Since 2010 he is a member of the Executive Council of the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS). Manfred Grohmann is Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham, UK and Honorary Enterprise Professor of the University of Melbourne, Australia.
