Elective subject landscapearchitecture for architects ‘Pairi-daeza’

first cycle 2006 - 2008 . The word ‘paradise’ with its cultural implication can be traced back to the Persian term of ‚Pairi-daeza’, old-persian for ’a wall surrounding a garden’. The cycle takes students into an investigation concerning basic landscape architectonical elements. The students get an insight into the subjective reading of townscapes, model making and design of public urban landscapes.

Pairi-daeza: Peri; Tür, Tor, Schwelle; Wasser; Vegetation; Choreographie; Metapher; publications: Pairi-daeza Workbook 1-6, Professur Vogt (Hg.), published in house, ETH Zürich

second cycle from 2009 . The word ‘paradise’ with its cultural implication can be traced back to the Persian term of ‚Pairi-daeza’, old-Persian for ’a wall surrounding a garden’. The second cycle links architectonical elements with basic landscape typologies. The combinations focuses on specific aspects that reveal the complexity of contemporary public open space design.
