Mapping Colonial Legacies

A session on cartographic methods with Dimitra Andritsou.

Online-Lecture 04.12.25 12pm

As part of "Rethink Property: On Colonial Property Regimes," we invited Dimitra Andritsou to discuss cartographic methods with us. Dimitra Andritsou is an architect and researcher. She has been working with Forensic Architecture since 2019, where she held a variety of roles, most recently Senior Researcher at Forensis, FA’s Berlin-based agency. There she has led research on right-wing terror, border violence, environmental racism, and colonial continuities. In this session she will present the project on “Environmental Racism in Death Alley, Louisiana”.

In the seminar, we engage with (post)colonial property issues and explore how the construct of property can be represented graphically and cartographically. Asking ourselves how this connects with our local practice as architects and planners and a redefinition of building economy.
