New publication on the effects of polarization in PNAS

Astrid Dannenberg and Marcel Lumkowsky from our chair were part of an interdisciplinary research team that investigated the effects of political polarization on cooperation and welfare. The resulting paper called “Segregation and clustering of preferences erode socially beneficial coordination” was recently published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS).

The paper is part of a special feature on the “Dynamics of Political Polarization” studying different aspects of this phenomenon. A full list of the articles in the special feature can be found here.
