On May 9, we welcomed Dr. Karen Eilers, agile expert and renowned researcher in the field of organizational agility and agile mindset, as part of the master's seminar "Data Driven Service Engineering and Management" of the Department of Business Informatics at the University of Kassel under Dr. rer. pol. Mahei Li and Philipp Reinhard with interdisciplinary support from Viktoria Horn. The students had the opportunity to take part in a practice-oriented, full-day Scrum workshop led by Dr. Karen Eilers.

The focus was on the question: How can Scrum as a way of thinking and working help to develop data-based services in a user-centered, efficient and adaptive way? What makes the workshop special:

• External expertise: experienced Agile expert Dr. Karen Eilers provided in-depth knowledge and a wide range of insights from the field
• Theory meets practice: In the morning, the focus was on a structured overview of roles, artifacts and processes in the Scrum process
• Experience-oriented learning: In the afternoon, Scrum was brought to life in practice - with an interactive simulation game based on terminal blocks
• Experience teamwork live: The students worked in cross-functional Scrum teams, went through several sprints and reflected together on their experiences The feedback from the students was clear: the creative, practical structure - especially the hands-on work with terminal blocks - made agility tangible and understandable in the long term.

This addition to the seminar impressively demonstrates how methodological expertise, data-based service development and agile principles can merge together. We would like to thank our external expert Dr. Karen Eilers and look forward to further practical formats!
