Larissa Fait wins Theodor-Wessels-Award

November 21, 2019 - Every one or two years, the Theodor-Wessels-Foundation awards the Theodor-Wessels-Price, worth a total of EUR 10,000. The foundation was established in 1981 by the members of the Alumni Association of the Institute of Energy Economics (EWI) at the University of Cologne. The price is awarded for scientific works in the field of energy economics that make a significant contribution to clarifying economic issues in the energy industry or addressing important energy policy issues.

In 2019, Larissa Fait, research associate at the Chair of Applied Microeconomics and Empirical Energy Economics at the University of Kassel, was honoured for her master thesis together with three other price winners. In her thesis Ms. Fait deals with consumer preferences for regional green electricity. The work was prepared as part of the SINTEG-project C/sells (www.csells.net) and supervised by Elke Groh (Chair of Empirical Economic Research) and Prof. Dr. Heike Wetzel (Chair of Applied Microeconomics and Empirical Energy Economics) from the University of Kassel.

Larissa Fait obtained her bachelor's degree at the University of Bochum and started to study for her master's degree at the University of Kassel in 2017. In April 2019, she received her degree in sustainable management and immediately began her doctorate at the Chair of Applied Microeconomics and Empirical Energy Economics, where she had already worked as a student assistant.
