Philipp Händel, together with a team of the University of Heidelberg, has completed a research trip to Tanzania from 1 March to 2 April 2020. Supported by the University of Dar Es Salaam and the Tanzania Fisheries Research Institute (TAFIRI), they conducted a series of lab-in-the-field experiments with fishermen at the Tanzanian coast of Lake Victoria. The results will contribute to a better understanding of the fishers’ motivations and decision-making processes and the development of effective governance strategies for sustainable fishery.
