Professor Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Director of the Scientific Center for Information Technology Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel, will be Program Chair at the upcoming International Conference on Information Systems(ICIS) 2019 from 15.He will hold the position of Program Chair (together with Professor Wai Fong Boh/Nanyang Technological University and Professor Sunil Wattal/Temple University) at the upcoming International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) 2019 in Munichfrom 15-18 December 2019. The International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) is an A-rated conference (VHB-Jourqual 3) and the most important conference in the field of information systems worldwide. It is organized by the Association for Information Systems(AIS).

The venue for this conference rotates annually between the continents; the upcoming event will take place in the AIS "Region" 2 Europe/Middle East/Africa. For the first time in its almost 40-year history, this renowned conference will now take place in Germany. At the same time, this ICIS will be able to celebrate an anniversary as the 40th ICIS conference (the first ICIS took place in 1980 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania/USA).
