Mexican researcher Jesús Peralta Hernández visits the Department of Vocational and Business Education
We welcome Dr Jesús Peralta Hernández as a visiting researcher from the National Autonomous University of Mexico to the Institute of Vocational Education and Training, and in particular to the Department of Vocational and Business Education.
As a postdoctoral researcher, Dr Peralta Hernández focuses primarily on creativity in the context of informal learning processes (including transformation processes and the associated opportunities for workplace-based learning). His other research interests include topics in the fields of cultural psychology, activity theory and the theory of dynamic systems.
During his visit to the University of Kassel, Dr Peralta will work in collaboration with Prof. Goller and his research group, focusing primarily on developing a conceptual framework for linking creativity with human agency in the workplace and interpreting agency as a dynamic process, whilst viewing creativity as an expression of agency. On this basis, he will develop a system of analytical categories to investigate the relationship between individual reflection and interaction in collaborative spaces within a continuing professional development programme for teachers, and to determine how agency develops and manifests itself creatively. The category system will be tested using data from this educational intervention, and patterns will be identified that provide evidence for a processual, situated and relational understanding of agency and creativity. The collaboration is intended to contribute to the development of an integrative framework that will form the basis for future publications.
