Political-Administrative Elite (PAE)

The research project „Politisch-Administrative Elite“ („Political-Administrative Elite“), or short PAE, conducted by Prof. Dr. Marian Döhler (Leibniz University Hannover), Dr. Falk Ebinger (Vienna University of Economics and Business) and Prof. Dr. Sylvia Veit is a continuation of a survey of high-ranking government officials in Germany that has been conducted since the 1970s. The aim of this survey has traditionally been to gain insights into the activities of this crucial group, their understanding of politics and their role perception and the conditions of their socialization. The broad database enables longitudinal and cross-sectional analyses of the personal background, the tasks and the attitudes of ministerial civil servants in Germany.
