The first coordination meeting between the 13 research projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and supported by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA) in the "Internet-based services" funding line took place on December 11, 2020.

Dr. Christoph Peters presented the research project "Hybrid Intelligence Service Support" (HISS) on behalf of the Department of Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister) as project coordinator. The event took place entirely in the virtual conference environment due to Covid-19.

The HISS research consortium consists of three technological implementation partners (smartransfer GmbH, Cognigy GmbH and publicplan GmbH), three piloting partners (Starke + Reichert GmbH, Controlware GmbH and B. Braun Melsungen AG) and two research institutions (University of Kassel and ISF München e.V.).

As one of six integrative smart service concepts, HISS aims to combine artificial intelligence (AI) and human problem-solving skills to create an intelligent support system. The priorities set by the HISS consortium include the technical excellence of AI on the one hand, and the generation of user-centered solutions for support requests while empowering support staff for a self-determined design of (AI-based) work on the other.
