Abstract: The digital transformation is reshaping commercial and administrative professions and presents teachers with the challenge of preparing students as effectively as possible for the digitized world of work. The “DiWiBe” project developed a professional development program for (prospective) teachers that teaches fundamental concepts of digitalization and the interconnections of digitalization within these professional fields. The goal is to highlight opportunities for integrating digitalization into instruction at vocational schools. This practical report provides insights into the materials developed and examines challenges in the design and implementation of the professional development format. It also offers ideas for designing future professional development programs for teachers.
