The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FB10)
a profile
Interdisciplinary cooperation is the particular hallmark of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (10). Our institutes provide ideal conditions for working on interdisciplinary research topics. Our central areas of research involve 3D nanostructures, photonics, molecular biosciences and empirical educational research in the STEM subjects.
The SFB 1319 ELCH special research area (Extreme Light for Analysing and Controlling Molecular Chirality) was launched at the faculty in January 2018. The University of Kassel was the main applicant for the project and is being supported by its partners, the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, the Philipps University in Marburg and the German Electron Synchrotron DESY Centre in Hamburg. Seven of the ten research groups in all are based at the University of Kassel.
