New publication

On April 09, 2025, our group published an article in Physical Review Research. Continuous hydrogen emission spectra (Condon diffraction bands), measured at BESSY II with a spectrometer from our group, provide a sensitive insight into the electronic structure of the hydrogen molecule. To illustrate this, theoretical calculations were tested on femtometer shifts of the potential curves.

New publication

On March 06, 2025, our group published an article in Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics. In this paper, we investigate the different fragmentation dynamics of an inner-shell ionized biomolecule surrounded by water molecules to mimic a natural environment. Depending on the process and environment, the biomolecule is either damaged or protected.

New PhD student Florian Ott

In April 2025 we welcome Florian Ott as a new PhD student in the Functional Thin Films group. We wish you a great time at the AGE and much success for your doctorate!

DPG Spring Meetings 2025

In March 2025, a large part of our working group attended the spring meetings of the German Physical Society (DPG) in Bonn (Atoms, Molecules, Quantum Optics and Photonics section) and Regensburg (Condensed Matter section), to which they contributed a large number of presentations and posters.
