Open day, study information day and plant market in Witzenhausen

With an open day on Sunday, April 27, the Department of Ecological Agricultural Sciences cordially invites you to discover current research up close and playfully. This year's open day is being held as part of the 800th anniversary celebrations of the town of Witzenhausen. There will also be guided tours of the historic buildings. On the university grounds in Steinstraße around and in the former monastery, the University of Kassel will be presenting itself with the traditional plant market and a wide range of hands-on activities on the subject of organic agriculture.

The university will be providing information for prospective students from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Study Information Day.

Open to the public: The greenhouse for tropical crops, the teaching and learning garden, The library of the DITSL, the ethnological museum with the offer for dialog, GNE Witzenhausen

The following activities take place throughout the day: hands-on research (drawing room & park), study information, analysis of soil samples (drawing room)*, quiz for young and old (entrance area to the monastery building), plant market (in front of and next to the greenhouse) with a wide range of culinary delights, bouncy castle (park), coffee & cake (entrance area to the monastery building).

*We examine soil samples from your garden. The samples should be taken at several points evenly distributed over the respective bed from a depth of 0-30 cm and then mixed well. Please only bring approx. 100 g of the mixed sample with you for analysis. You are welcome to provide samples from different beds.
