In the year of remembrance 2023/24, 125 years after the founding of the German Colonial School, various topics relating to history, remembrance, responsibility and the future were addressed and discussed at a wide range of events. The response to the events has shown that there is great interest in engaging with and discussing different positions on dealing with the history of the site.
In light of the fact that dealing with history is never finished, the open working group Witzenhausen and Colonialism is continuing its work. The working group is made up of individuals, initiatives, associations, groups and institutional representatives from Witzenhausen.
