Our colleague Sandra Almassri receives Thomas Sankara PhD Scholarship
Sandra’s PhD project examines how international agricultural models are translated in North Africa. Her research focuses on the translation of the EU Organic Regulation (2018/848) and the agroecological practices following the 2014 FAO Symposium on Agroecology, exploring how they are reinterpreted in Tunisia and Morocco. Comparing these two closely linked yet institutionally distinct contexts, the project examines how governance structures, socio-ecological conditions, and local actor networks shape the adaptation of external agricultural models, aiming to inform debates on sustainable agriculture in the Global South.
