Ben Joseph is a research assistant and Ph.D. student at the University of Kassel’s Grassland Science and Renewable Plant Resources section, since 2017. He did his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from India and Master’s in Management of Resources and Environment from Germany, specializing in life cycle assessments. Using life cycle assessment tools to understand and compare the environmental impacts of different processes and products are his research interest. He is involved in an INTERREG sponsored EU project (RE-DIRECT) that seeks to study the use of residual biomass as a raw material for producing carbon products. His role in the project is to study the environment benefits of producing activated carbon from residual biomass compared to the conventional activated carbon.
